☀️ Guaranteed Sunshine in Andalusia: What to Expect

Andalusia and the Costa del Sol aren’t just famous for tapas, flamenco and whitewashed villages—they're also known for weather you can count on. Thanks to the Mediterranean climate, you can be outside almost year-round. Below, you’ll find what to expect each season so you know what to pack in your suitcase.

☀️ Summer: Hot, Sunny and Beach-Ready

From June to September, the sun is in full force. Temperatures often rise above 30°C, and on some days even hit 40°C. Rain is rare during these months, making it perfect for long beach days on the Costa del Sol, evening strolls through Moorish towns, or lounging under a parasol with a tinto de verano in hand.

🌧️ Winter: Mild Temperatures With a Chance of Rain

During the winter months (December to February), the climate remains mild. Average temperatures hover around 15°C. While the sun still makes frequent appearances, there's a higher chance of rain in this period. You can leave your heavy winter coat at home, but a sweater and waterproof jacket will come in handy. Bonus: it's low season, so you'll have many attractions almost to yourself.

🌸 Spring and Autumn: The Ideal Blend

March to May and September to November are favorites for many travelers. With temperatures between 20°C and 28°C, plenty of sun and a refreshing breeze, these months are perfect for active outings—hiking trails in nature parks, city breaks in Seville or coastal bike rides.

📦 Summary: What to Pack

In summer: sunscreen, swimwear, light clothing and a sunhat.

In spring or autumn: layers, hiking shoes and sunglasses.

In winter: a sweater, rain jacket and something to stay warm in the evening on the terrace.

Andalusia almost guarantees great weather, whether you're hitting the beach in July or wandering through an orange grove in January. And if a little rain does fall? There's always a bar nearby serving churros and hot chocolate.
