Say hello to Miel de Mil Flores from Sierras Andaluzas. Pure, no nonsense, straight from the hives of Andalusian bees. This honey shines with a warm amber color, smells like blooming fields, and tastes exactly how honey should: sweet, smooth, and just a little bold.

Villamartín (Cádiz): history carved into the hills
Villamartín in Cádiz is where ancient history meets rural Andalusian charm. Tucked between the rolling lands of the Sierra de Cádiz, this quiet town marks the edge of the Cádiz countryside. Two rivers, the Guadalete and the Sarracín, shape the landscape and support local farming.
From the Neolithic to noble mansions
Villamartín isn’t just old—it’s prehistoric. The dolmens of Alberite, declared cultural heritage, show that humans settled here as far back as the Neolithic period.
Fast-forward a few millennia, and you land in the 8th century, when the Moors built the Matrera Castle. In 1342, Christian forces took over, and the castle became a stronghold of the crown. The village grew around it, following the shape of the hillside.
Today, you can still walk among noble houses like the Topete Mansion, standing proudly between rows of whitewashed homes. The steep streets and narrow alleys haven’t changed much, and that’s part of the magic.
Centuries of power struggles
Villamartín’s history is marked by more than just conquests. In the 16th century, the villagers entered a legal battle with the city of Seville over land rights. That fight lasted until 1818.
The result? Villagers were awarded the Campo de Matrera and compensation for 300 years of lost profits. Sadly, only a few ever saw the benefits.
