Most flights to Málaga come from low-cost carrier Transavia. Since Málaga is a popular spot, many flights depart daily from different airports. Here, we focus on Dutch airports. Flights also leave from Belgium and Germany.
Schiphol Airport
Schiphol offers the widest range of airlines. Besides Transavia, you can fly with Vueling, EasyJet, and KLM. Flight time is about 3 hours. Booking a time slot for security saves waiting time at the airport.
Eindhoven Airport
Eindhoven mainly serves budget airlines like Transavia and Ryanair. Flights to Málaga take around 2 hours and 50 minutes. The airport is smaller and less busy than Schiphol, so you spend less time getting from entrance to gate.
Rotterdam Airport
Rotterdam Airport is even more compact. It’s a favorite for travelers who like calm and simplicity. Transavia flies to Málaga from here. Flight time is about 2 hours and 55 minutes. After security, there’s a nice airport shop to browse perfumes, books, and souvenirs.
Parking at the Airport
Many travelers drive to the airport. This is true for city trips or longer holidays. All Dutch airports have parking options. Eindhoven Airport offers plenty of parking spots close to the terminal. Most are within walking distance.
Some parking providers include a shuttle service, taking 5 to 10 minutes to reach the terminal. But most parking is near enough to walk, while your car may be moved to a different spot after you park.
Arrival at Málaga Airport
Costa del Sol Airport is about 8 km from Málaga city center. It serves city travelers and sun seekers alike. From the airport, you can take the train or bus to the center. The train ride takes around 12 minutes. The bus takes about 25 minutes.
