From 11 to 16 July 2024, San Fernando in Cádiz fills with colour, music and joy during the Feria del Carmen y de la Sal. This festive week is one of Andalusia’s most vibrant events and has been recognised as a Festival of Tourist Interest. Whether you're a local or a curious traveller, the Feria is the perfect moment to enjoy the true spirit of San Fernando.
Tribute to the Virgen del Carmen
The Feria is dedicated to the Virgen del Carmen, the town’s beloved patron saint. Streets shine with hanging lanterns and colourful decorations. Traditional tents—known as casetas—fill with music, dancing and smiling faces. Locals dress in flamenco attire, ready to celebrate from day to night.
Tents, dancing and shared joy
This year’s Feria will have over 3,600 square metres of tent space. That means room for dancing, eating and plenty of lively conversation. There will also be 34 kitchen units and more than 340 metres of balustrades to complete the setup. Looking for a smaller version? The Feria de San Juan will offer a more intimate celebration, with its own tents and food stands.
Light up the town
San Fernando knows how to shine. Not just at the fairground in Caño Herrera, but throughout the city. Streets like Isaac Peral and Las Cortes will be lit up with festive lights and decorations. Wherever you walk, you'll feel the warm, welcoming atmosphere of the city.
Local flavours and friendly faces
In the tents, you can enjoy the best wines from the region. Try Andalusian dishes, share a meal, and join in a Sevillana dance. Riders on horseback pass by, traditional music plays, and you get a true taste of local hospitality.
Save the date
The Feria of San Fernando isn’t just a party. It’s a week-long celebration of tradition, togetherness and joy. From 11 to 16 July 2024, San Fernando invites you to join the fun. Pack your dancing shoes and come hungry—this is one festival you’ll remember.
