The Mercado Central de Atarazanas is a covered market where fresh products are sold daily. The market is housed in a historic 13th-century building that originally served as a shipyard. The impressive stained-glass window and Moorish architecture make a visit extra special.

The Sunday market in Nerja, also known as Rastrillo, is a popular spot for bargain hunters. The market takes place near the Almijara II urbanization and usually starts around 08:30 AM. Most vendors pack up their stalls around 2:00 PM.

How to Get to the Market?

  • On Foot: A 20 to 30-minute walk from the center.

  • By Bus: Buses run from various points in Nerja.

  • By Car: From the center, take Calle San Miguel towards Maro, then turn left at the Burriana roundabout (Exit 3). Follow Calle Julio Romero, turn left after 250 meters (Calle Cisne), and continue to Almijara II.
